Food Review

[restaurant] Zozaki, Gothenburg

I always say yes to Bento Box!

This is a complete #throwback review because I went there a long time ago but still could not move on as it is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in Gothenburg. Before I made a review about ramen, that is one thing. But rarely have I found a Japanese restaurant in Gothenburg that offers ramen, sushi, and bento in one place.

I came across this restaurant on TripAdvisor when I was looking for a good Japanese restaurant and I was immediately interested because they have bento at a decent price. I went there during lunchtime and it was not too busy. I ordered the bento with rolled beef yakiniku. It was so awesome! The sauce was perfect, the beef was tender, the rice was fluffy and a little chewy (as how I like it). Plus! It includes one slice of honeydew, a small portion of chuka wakame (seaweed salad), salmon nigiri and salmon roll. It was basically: all my favorite food in one bento. My boyfriend also joined me for lunch and he ordered a bowl of shoyu ramen. He enjoyed it as well, he thought the pork was perfectly cooked as well, even though the broth is rather lighter than he would like it to be. No complaints, though!
Other than ramen and bento, they also have some sushi menu that is worth to try. Additionally, they also have many types of different sake and Japanese beer that you can try.
Despite its location that is very central, this restaurant is definitely underrated. There are not so many commercial activities in its surrounding area, making it feels like a hidden place between offices in the middle of the city. When I went there, the service was great and the staffs were very friendly. Most of them speak English quite well. One thing they might have to improve is accessibility as there is only one entrance with stairs and no rams.
